In-charge of State Congress BK Hariprasad after attending a four-hour long marathon meeting at the party office here on Tuesday evening said the State Congress would fight the general elections under the leadership of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president.
Hariprasad stated that their party does not have the tradition to declare the name of Chief Ministerial candidate till the election results are out and the elected MlAs choose their leader. He said Jayadev Jena would continue as the PCC chief.
He also said the PCC would make a chargesheet against the BJD very soon to make people aware about the real picture of the ruling party. He alleged that the BJD won the recent urban local bodies elections with the help of money and muscle power.
At the close-door meeting, block and district Congress leaders gave their suggestions to senior leaders to strengthen the party in the State ahead of the elections.
“We have discussed in detail about the shortcomings and strong points. Our members are making up their minds to win the elections,” Hariprasad said.
He said the members of the party should deliver the message to the people about the good works done by the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre.
