A new political platform, Congress Socialist Forum,
was launched here on Akshay Tritiya on Tuesday to campaign against
corruption and anti-people programmes and failure to check rising
communal violence of both Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha and
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Centre.
The forum would work in coordination with other opposition parties to
accelerate the fight against the BJD and the BJP.
It would fight for income of farmers having five acres of agriculture land
to be at par with bank clerks, checking use of black money and
Government machineries in elections, stopping privatisation of mines
and Indian Railways, etc.
The forum would start its first youth conference on “Save Democracy”
in Balangir.
Akash Mishra, Saroj Satpathy, Arun Jena, Krushnachandra Sagaria,
Debi Prasad Prusti, Manoranjan Pattnaik and Hemanta Samal spoke at a
meeting in this regard.
