Srikant again for B’swar, Jayadev Jena from Anandpur Assembly seat
Two sitting MlAs denied ticket
The Congress on Tuesday announced the names of its candidates for 118 Assembly constituencies and two lok Sabha seats in the State.
Sitting MP and Union Minister Srikant Jena has been re-nominated from the Baleswar lok Sabha seat and lokanath Rath, son of former MP late Somanath Rath, has been fielded from the Aska Parliamentary constituency. Similarly, PCC president Jayadev Jena has been given ticket for Anandpur Assembly seat.
On March 8, the party had announced the first list of candidates for nine lok Sabha seats. However, the party has not named candidates for four Assembly seats like Parlakhemundi, Rayagada, Hinjili and Brajarajnagar, where elections will be held in the first phase on April 10. Two sitting MlAs, Mamata Madhi (Chitrokanda) and Congress legislature Party Deputy leader Chakradhar Paika (Mohana) were not given party tickets.
