Encouraged by the recent performance of the party in the last week’s elections in three NACs, the Congress has begun working out its strategy for the upcoming civic polls in the State in September.
AICC general secretary and Odisha in-charge Jagdish Tytler on Tuesday met as many as 60 block presidents of the party of undivided Cuttack district here and discussed about the strategy.
Tytler along with Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Niranjan Patnaik and AICC secretary Mirza Irshad Baig met each of the block presidents individually and it was learnt that the leaders discussed about the names of prospective candidates for the municipal elections. Addressing the block presidents of Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur districts at the party’s Cuttack city office and those of Jajpur and Kendrapada districts in the party’s rural office, Tytler urged them to work sincerely at the grassroots level to oust the BJD from power.
It is a golden opportunity to throw the BJD Government out as the people are now disgusted with the misrule of the regional party, he said.
