The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) would launch a ‘Jansampark Abhiyan’ to reach out to the people across the State on Thursday, informed party Odisha in-charge Jitendra Singh here on Wednesday.

According to the decision taken at a meeting held here, the leaders and workers of the party would visit different districts and blocks to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.

The party aims to cover all 314 blocks ahead of the 2019 elections. The PCC vice-presidents and secretaries have been entrusted responsibilities to carry out the campaign successfully.

Singh also informed that those who want to get tickets in the coming elections should have to necessarily enrol a minimum of 10,000 members through the Mission Shakti Application, after which his or her candidature would be taken into consideration.

The move came a day after the ruling BJD launched its month-long State-wide ‘Jansampark Padayatra’ from Bhubaneswar to sensitise the people about various welfare schemes introduced by the State Government.
