PCC OBC Cell chairman Bishnu Charan Barik on Tuesday sought to know that while OBC (Other Backward Classes) reservations are in force for sarpanches and Zilla Parishad members why this should not be implemented in case of MlAs or MPs.
Addressing an OBC working committee meeting here, Barik demanded revival of the OBC Finance Corporation to give a scope to the OBC youth of the State for employment. PCC president Jayadev Jena said reservation for OBC people should be ensured from the block to district and State levels.
Former Union Minister Kanhu Charan lenka, attending the meeting as the chief guest, said the UPA Government is providing sufficient funds for development of OBC people, but the State Government has failed to utilise the money.
