Veteran Congress leader late Laxman Mallick’s son Debi Prasad Mallick died of Covid-19 in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. He was 58. Mallick had joined politics after demise of the father; he had unsuccessfully contested 2019 Assembly elections from Tirtol constituency as Congress candidate.
His untimely death has shocked the people here besides Congress leaders and others from different political parties in Jagatsinghpur district. He is survived by his wife Binodin Mallick and two sons Nikheles and Hitesh. His last rites were performed at the Satyanagar crematorium in Bhubaneswar.
