Cong chalks out month-long stir

PNS

The Congress on Saturday chalked out month-long activities to take the party’s stand on various issues to the people at the grassroots level highlighting the failure of both the Modi Government at the Centre and the Naveen Patnaik Government in the State.

In a virtual meeting chaired by PCC president Niranjan Patnaik and participated by 450 prominent party leaders including MP, MLAs, ZP Members, district presidents and State and national office-bearers, it was also decided to ensure maximum participation of people in the national-level agitation programme from July 7 to 17.

Niranjan Patnaik and party State in-charge MP Chella Kumar called upon party workers to carry Congress messages directly to the people at the panchayat and town levels and asked them to meet Covid-19 victims, families of deceased and people who have lost their livelihoods because of the series of lockdown measurers. Besides, party workers were also asked to meet farmers and study the agrarian crises as the party has decided to continue its battle for the interest of farmers.

The party observed that while both BJP Government at the Centre and BJD Government in the State have utterly failed to manage the Covid crisis and prices of essential commodities, including petroleum products, common people’s hardship has doubled during the last two years.
