The Congress on Tuesday called for a 12-hour dawn-to-dusk Odisha bandh on Wednesday to protest against the death of the Kunduli gangrape victim.
Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC president) Prasad Harichandan said the party would observe the bandh from 6 am to 6 pm across the State. Harichandan appealed to people for their cooperation in making the bandh a success. Terming the Kunduli victim’s suicide as deeply shocking, he demanded resignation of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik over the issue and stringent action against the culprits involved in the case.
“We call for a 12 hour Odisha Bandh holding the State Government solely responsible for the distressing Kunduli gangrape tragedy,” the Congress Tweeted.
