The transfer ‘punishment’ given to Rayagada district Collector Dr Sashi Bhushan Padhi and ITDA PA Gorachand Gomango in connection with DWO Dhaneswar Prusty suicide case has evoked diverse responses from the two main Opposition parties, the Congress and the BJP, here. While Congress workers exploded firecrackers in front of the Collectorate to express their happiness over the transfer of the Collector and the ITDA PA, BJP is still continuing its dharna demanding arrest of the two and a CBI inquiry into the incident.
“We will not call off our strike till Padhi and Gomango are arrested like any other culprits in the country. What is the meaning of this transferIJ In fact, the State Government has rewarded Padhi and Gomango as they have got prize posts like Special Secretary, Health and DRDA APD, respectively. The Crime Brach inquiry is just an eye wash, we demand a CBI inquiry,” said BJP leader Kaliram Majhi.
