The Congress will launch a two-day agitation against the vindictive politics and attempt to suppress Opposition by the Narendra Modi led NDA Government at the Centre on July 21 and 22.

As per the programme, on July 21, a rally will be taken out from the Congress office at Master Canteen Square to the ED office, while on July 22 demonstrations will be held in all district headquarters towns.

PCC president Sarat Pattanayak said the agitation is to save democracy and protect the constitutional rights of the opposition leaders. “The Modi Government is using ED, CBI and Income Tax against the opposition leaders. In many instances, raids have been conducted at mid-night on their houses. The summons for Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi by the ED are fresh examples of the repressive policy. Again, Sonia Gandhi has been summoned to be present before the ED on July 21,” said Pattanayak urging farmers, workers, intellectuals, students, youths and women to join the agitation in large numbers.
