The proposed 414.07-km Coastal National Highway from Digha to Gopalpur in Odisha is at the detailed project report (DPR) preparation stage now, informed Works, Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallick in the Assembly on Monday.
In response to a question of BJD member Prashant Behera and additional questions of other members, the Minter said that two DPR consultants, Chaitanya Projects Limited and Aarvee Associates, have been appointed for making detailed project reports for the two stretches of the proposed NH, one from Gopalpour to Ratanpur and two from Ratanpur to Digha.
The Minister said the National Highway Authority of India approved the alignment on August 21, 2018. But a meeting held under the Chief Secretary on February 13, 2019 recommended to the NHAI for certain changes in the alignment. Accordingly, the DPRs are being prepared. Mallick said he would soon hold a meeting with NHAI officers over the proposed project.
