Appreciating the performance of the Mahanadi Coalfields limited (MCl), Union Coal Secretary Anil Swarup on Sunday said the Coal India limited (CIl) has gained a positive outlook in the general mindset with a northward growth during the last one year.
Swarup was chairing a review meeting at the MCl, which contributes one-fourth to the CIl’s total coal production. The MCl is performing very well and all efforts should be made to achieve the 2020 target of producing 250 million tonnes, he exhorted.
MCl CMD Anil Kumar Jha made a powerpoint presentation on mining operations. Swarup also appreciated the MCl’s role in introduction of leveraging technologies in the industry for more transparency and better operational efficiency.
He also attended a Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) meeting at the MCl and interacted with the representatives of trade unions in the company.
The MCl crossed the 100-MT coal production mark on January 6.
