Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday urged Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Jairam Gadkari to ask the National Highways Authorities to complete the balance Bhubaneswar-Puri NH 203 four-laning work at the earliest.

“The road is extremely important from the point of view of tourism as it connects the State Capital with the holy city of lord Jagannath. The project was earlier envisaged for completion before Nabakalebara Festival in July, 2015. More than 70 per cent works were completed and inauguration of the road was also done by you on July 9, 2015 before the Rath Yatra. Toll collection on the partially completed road has also been continuing from mid-October with full administrative support from the State. But the balance work has not has not been completed,” informed Patnaik in a letter to Gadkari.

Mentioning that works of Chandanpur ROB and Puri bypass have not been resumed after the Rath Yatra, the Chief Minister sought Gadkari’s intervention for completion of the balance works without any further delay.
