PNS

Civil Society members under the banner of the Odisha lokayukta Abhijan (OlA) on Monday urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to circulate the official draft Odisha lokayukta Bill for a public debate before getting it enacted in the State legislative Assembly.

The OlA members said the Bill would be tabled and passed in the forthcoming Assembly session. However, the people of the State are yet in the dark about the contents of the draft Bill prepared by the State Government.

A draft framework on the Bill in a consultation organised by the civil society here had also been submitted to the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary on Saturday.

The OlA members said the participants in the consultation unanimously and fervently wanted that the State Government should put the official draft of the lokayukta Bill in public domain including the website for enabling the people at large to deliberate on it and to submit their constructive suggestions for making the Bill further refined and foolproof.
