Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would review the preparations of various departments linked with the annual Rath Yatra scheduled to be held on July 6 here at the last Rath Yatra Coordination Committee meeting on Tuesday.

A host of Ministers along with department Secretaries would attend the meeting.

Meanwhile, Puri district Collector Arabinda Agrwal on Monday raised doubts over the completion of Samjajpur railway over-bridge (ROB) repair work before the annual Rath Yatra and directed the concerned officials to make alternative arrangements for smooth passage of vehicles during the festival.

Earlier, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has been asked to complete the repair work of road before June 30.

“Repair work is going on. It will take some time. Our prime target is to facilitate smooth passage of vehicles during the Rath Yatra since thousands of devotees will throng Puri. Alternative arrangements beneath the bridge have been made,” said the Collector while reviewing the progress of works assigned to different departments for smooth conduct of the Rath Yatra. Meanwhile, IG Sanjeev Panda held a meeting with the district SP and senior police and traffic personnel at the SP office on traffic arrangements.
