CM to lay stone of Ravenshaw second campus today

PNS

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will lay foundation stone of second campus of the Ravenshaw University at Abhinav Bidanasi on Wednesday. The campus to be christened as ‘Mahanadi Campus’ will come up over an area of 120 acres at Sector 13 of the Satellite city developed by the Cuttack Development Authority (CDA).

The State Government in 2010 had allocated the land on the western side of the city for the university in order to ease the pressure on its crowded principal campus at College Square in the city, which is now catering to the academic needs of over 8,000 students. It is proposed that all the professional courses will run in the second campus leaving the principal campus to take care of the courses in traditional subjects.

The Chief Minister would also dedicate to public a newly laid road of the Public Works Department connecting Sector 6 with Sector 10 and lay the foundation stone of two urban community health centres at Sector 7 of the Satellite city and at Chauliaganj on the occasion.
