The State Government’s ‘zero tolerance for corruption’ is only propaganda. The reality is completely different. The Chief Minister and the State is ahead in the country in providing protection to corrupt officers, alleged the BJP on Thursday.
Every day, the Vigilance is taking action against government officials. Action is being taken against lower level officials while senior officials are not being punished. In Odisha, 227 IAS and OAS officers have landed in the Vigilance net on corruption charges and the Chief Minister’s approval has been sought for action against them, said BJP State spokesperson Manoj Mahapatra.
But after the Supreme Court’s judgement, the Chief Minister’s approval is not needed to take action against them. So, the Chief Minister should immediately direct the Vigilance to file charge-sheets against these officials. In Odisha, there is no democracy but only Babudom, said Mahapatra.
