Members of the Jay Jagannath Morning Walkers’ Club carried out a cleaning drive and removed the garbage from the Khallikote College ground here on Sunday. The ground is frequented by many sportspersons, morning walkers and students. Besides, it is used for staging social and cultural programmes. Locals alleged that the Berhampur Municipal Corporation authorities are not carrying out cleaning operations, due to which heaps of garbage had piled up. Club president Nrusinha Prasad Pattanayak, working president Kamana Padhy, secretary Nageswar Prusty and other members participated in the drive.
