The syllabuses for students of Classes-IX and X would be reduced by 30 per cent this year, informed School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Wednesday. “Online classes are currently underway across State due to Covid-19 situation. However, it is not possible on part of each and every student to avail online education. Hence, we have decided to reduce syllabuses,” Minister said. He pointed out that Government had also last year slashed the syllabuses for Classes-I to XII by 30 per cent as academic session was affected due to pandemic. Dash further added that a decision regarding reopening of schools in State is yet to be taken.
