Class I-V school runs in one room, with one teacher

PNS

The Relhadu Project Upper Primary School under Koira block runs with just one class room though scores of students are reading here from Classes-I to V. Sources said, during the year 2009, Maoists activities had increased in the area and the ultras had blown away the school building leaving it completely damaged. Ever since, the Government had not paid any attention to repairing the school and new class rooms in this school have not yet been constructed even if ten years have passed.

There are 31 students from Class I to Class V in the school and all have been studying in the single room. Bipin  Bihari Oram works as a single teacher in the school.  Whenever Oram goes on leave, a teacher from nearby B Jharbeda School comes in deputation to teach students of the school.  Midday meal is being prepared in a broken room in school. The villagers of the area have been demanding for construction of new rooms in this school but their efforts are in vain. “It is definitely a matter of concern. We will construct class rooms in this school very soon,” said DPC SSA Amulya Kumar Pradhan.
