A civil service coaching centre has started working at the Gangadhar Meher University (GMU) here on Wednesday to cater to the needs of the civil service aspirants of western Odisha.

“This is the first of its kind in western Odisha at the Government level,” informed GMU Vice-Chancellor Prof Sudhansu Sekhar Rath. He said he is committed to convert it to a developed centre at par with any other developed ones in the country.

There was a longstanding demand from students, guardians, civil service aspirants and elite sections of people to open such a centre at the Government level since there are many talented boys and girls who don’t get proper guidance to prepare for all-India civil service examinations. Sambalpur district Collector Samarth Verma, who inaugurated the coaching centre also provided valuable tips to civil service aspirants. “Sincerity, hard labour and determination are what are needed for qualifying in the civil service,” Verma said.
