The Niladrivihar Youth and Cultural Association (NYCA) observed the Rasagola Day in front of the chariot of the Trinity at Sailashreevihar here on the occasion of the Niladri Bije on Sunday.
Notably, Rasagola directly associated with the tradition and culture of lord Jagannath. led by NYCA president Dr Prakash Chandra Panigrahi, the body members explained to the local people on the significance of the day and distributed the Rasagolas. Earlier, the sweet item was offered to the deities on the chariot.
Association secretary Biswajit Pattnaik spoke on the connection of the delicacy with the lord Jagannath temple’s traditions and demanded a fresh intervention of the State Government in issue of geographical indication (GI) tagging.
Members of different local bodies were present. Senior citizens and intellectuals lauded the initiative of the youth body. Association treasurer Prakash Chandra Sahoo gave a vote of thanks.
