The police stations in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar under the Commissionerate police have been directed to set up reception centres for the convenience of the denizens. The reception centres would help people register their complaints without having to go through some channel or recommendations.
“Many people come to police stations through references or recommendations to file complaints. This has to stop completely,” said Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty . Everything would be transparent now. Details of all the cases would henceforth be shared with the media. A public notice would be issued soon when service becomes fully functional,” Mohanty said.
