The performance of the Commissionerate Police in disposing of cases in 2013 is poor compared to 2012. While 9,000 cases including rape, murder, robbery, burglary, theft, swindling, rioting and road accidents were registered with the police in 2013, only 7,212 cases were disposed of. While the disposal rate in rape cases decreased by five per cent, it fell by three per cent in loot cases in 2013 than the previous year. The loot, dacoity and murder cases also increased last year. As many as 81 murder and rape cases were registered in 2013.
