Ramakanta Sahu was elected as the new president of the lions Club Bhubaneswar for the year 2016-2017 at a meeting held on Sunday. He took charge from Kishore Kar. Ashok Agrawal and Ashok Mohanty were elected as secretary and treasurer, respectively.
The club’s former district Governor Dr Prashant Tripathy presided over the meeting. Attending as chief guest, Rabindra Jena praised the service of the club.
The new president spoke about youth empowerment and programmes on differently-abled people on the occasion.
Kalpana Biswal, Geeta Mohapatra and Biswanath Mohanty were present. Sarat Parida coordinated the programme.
