PNS

In an innovative mode of protest, residents of the Bhimatangi area of Bhubaneswar planted paddy saplings on a road demanding its immediate repair.

This stretch of road near the Saraswati Sishu Mandir in lane no 11 of the BMC Ward-61 has been in bad shape with accumulation of garbage, leading to stinking and mosquito breeding.

Irked by the inconvenience, members of the Ekamra Jan Jagaran Manch wielded brooms and cleaned the garbage from the area. They then planted paddy saplings to draw the attention of the authorities towards the state of the road. Several social workers who too joined the protest included Corporator Subasini Prusty, socialite Riturani Senapati, Pradip Prusty, Debashish Bramha, Prashant Das, Brajraj Panda, Swapnarani Samal, Sanjulata Patnaik, Rosina Mishra, Sandhyarani Bisoyi, Ranjita Das, lingaraj Prusty, Shantilata Mahapatra and Sangram Sahu led by Manch president Bhishma Narayan Nayak.
