CHSE staff stir to delay Plus II paper recheck

PNS

The rechecking of answer sheets of the last Plus II examinations is badly hit after the staff of the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) decided to go on an indefinite strike from Monday.

According to reports, the CHSE Plus II Employees’ Association has been writing to the higher authorities for fulfilment of its 15-point charter of demands. When the authorities didn’t take appropriate steps, the association decided to stage an indefinite dharna in front of the council chairman’s office here. The agitating employees demanded a CBI probe into the gross irregularities in the printing of question papers and purchase of CCTV cameras while asking for stern action against the guilty officials. The association members also demanded the chairman and the secretaries of the council be transferred immediately.

Due to the employees’ indefinite strike, supply of recheck papers of Plus II students would be delayed further, said a senior official of the council.Notably, the council had earlier announced that it would begin the process of providing copies of the rechecked answer sheets to the Plus II students from the first week of September.
