The agitating employees of the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) here called off their agitation on the 23rd day on Tuesday following the Higher Education Minister assured them that appropriate steps would be taken to meet their demands. Around 250 employees of the council had been on strike demanding implementation of employees’ promotion and immediate removal of CHSE Chairman and other officials involved in alleged corrupt practices.
The 17-point charter of demands of the employees also includes a separate server and website for CHSE, recovering the extra cost of examination papers and independent probe into purchase of CCTV cameras. They also demanded financial support from the Government for online evaluation of answer papers to be introduced from 2015.
