The Aarthika Sansthamananka Dwara Kshatigrastanka Milita Mancha (ASDKMM), a forum fighting for the duped chit fund depositors in the State, on Tuesday at its State committee meeting decided to resort to agitation starting from tehsil level to district level from October 9 to 30 to press their demands.

The Mancha also threatened that a large number of chit fund victims would gherao the State Assembly on the first day of its winter session.

“We demand that a door-to-door survey be undertaken across the State to identify the duped depositors, thereby facilitating refund of money to the victims within a specific timeframe, besides taking stringent legal action against the fraudulent chit fund owners and Ministers, MlAs and bureaucrats involved in the mega chit fund scam,” said Mancha convenor Jayanta Das.

Das alleged that the tardy process of CBI investigation in chit fund scam has raised many eyebrows while it has now become clear that many ruling party MlAs and Ministers are involved in the scam.

“The voters of Kandhamal lok Sabha seat, which is going to be polls on October 15, should give a befitting reply to the ruling BJD, under whose patronage the chit fund companies looted lakhs of poor people,” added Das.

The Mancha also reiterated some of their demands like framing of stringent State and Central laws ensuring 100-per cent refund of assured amounts to the depositors by the chit fund companies and stringent punishment to the accused at par with the punishment awarded to Rajat Gupta in the Insider Trading offence case in the US.

Among others, Anuradha Subudhi, Binod Majhi, Madhusudan Biswal and Sanjay Kumar Mohapatra were present at the State committee meeting.
