The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids on the offices of the Ponzi firm Astha Group in 14 places across the country, including Odisha.
The Astha Group offices were raided in four places in Odisha including Jagatsinghpur, Angul and Bhubaneswar, sources said.
Similarly, the chit fund firm’s offices in Surat, Goa, Indore and Jabalpur also came under raid, the sources said.
The sources said the rented residence of Astha Group chief Subhranshu lenka at Nageswar Tangi in Bhubaneswar was also raided by the CBI.
lenka and three of his business associates are currently lodged in jail for duping depositors of their money.
Raids were continuing till late in the evening.
