It is generally believed that a well-organised brigade of warriors led by a wise, fit and fine captain or brigadier is capable of victory at the warfront. Even though the brigade gets vanquished owing to ill-luck, it is still accorded a standing ovation for posing its valiant fight and valour.
Similarly, an organisation’s tour de force as well as esprit de corps is said to be solely balanced on its pivotal pin or the leader’s efficiency and managerial skills. The capable chieftain enables the progress and prosperity of the establishment called a private firm or company. Even this principle is completely applicable to a public sector unit (PSU) or a government-run corporation/undertaking.
It has often been observed by the experts in money matters that the firm falls flat even in its embryo and turns out to be a miscarriage shattered to rubbles causing unwarranted hardships to both the capital invested and the workforce pinning high hopes of sustenance as well as a bright future.
Experts opine that an able boss is synonymous with a magnet that automatically induces the iron (latent talent and skill) already in the labour-force/posse of employees. Newton’s Third Law of Gravitation (for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction) literally reflects here. If further elucidated, the statement of Newton’s Third Law of Gravitation means that in every interaction, there is a pair of forces acting on the two interacting objects. The size of the forces on the first object equals the size of the force on the second object.
Thus, the first object here is obviously chief/boss/leader/captain/general/brigadier or principal and the second object is the employee/labour-force or workforce. When an employee is ill-treated or misguided, he/she would suo motu transmit it to the mode of performance. It is a typical human instinct, let alone the obvious reaction of other animals. A cozy atmosphere at the workplace laced with a human face and flavour of work culture is believed to be working wonders yielding in fabulous output.
And, this all depends on the management and the efficacy of the lighthouse alias leader of the company. In a nutshell, the dynamism in a dynamic leader catapults and
catalyzes course of action and result of the team he/she leads. A quintessentially true leader ought to be sincere, diligent, dutiful, responsive and accountable for the omission and commission for which he/she needs to be self-introspective and an epitome of ‘first be and then make’. Undoubtedly, the leader must not be of the habit of passing the buck on others.
It would be better to delve into dissecting the problem and be a troubleshooter instead of pointing finger at others in a bid to dodge the responsibility of being a team leader.
An able leader should also be bestowed with a vision, farsightedness following which his/her foresight foretells where the path paves forward, how to negotiate the blind curve and when to avert impending mishaps. As per the age-old adages of “Prevention is better than cure” and “A stitch in time saves nine”, the top echelons ought to be manned with such capable, rationally eligible and brainy manpower that means business and profit in true letter and spirit.
The same sort of attitude and aptitude must be earnestly followed in hiring the right person at the right position even at the lower rungs so that a bad worker does not quarrel with the tools for the fault and flaws instead of introspectively diagnosing the disease in him or her.
The virtue of a true leadership candidly speaks volumes by means of his/her deeds, the convincing as well as comprehensive ways and means of approach towards the manpower, sorting out and fixing the problems arising from time to time, and a meditative mediation of hiccups and hassles.
False vanity of rank and position must not reign supreme or else the mirror of conscience gets wrapped up in the vicious circle of dust of self-destruction and abject loss that simply spells doom upon the undiscovered beauty and splendour of an establishment.
Even though the proverb goes: “All is well that ends well” and “End justifies the means”, notwithstanding that “Means justify the end” and the chieftain like Mahatma Gandhi, is a unique persona in teaching even the audaciously arrogant and self-touted mighty colonial rulers that his leadership exhibited by dint of peaceful and non-violent mission mode could eventually be achieved with a loud and clear message that the sun can even set in the British Empire.
The Battle of every Mahabharata can be fought bravely and won provided that the rein must be in the hands armed with Lord Krishna’s (divine) wisdom and consciousness since it is good to be important like a commander, but it is more important to be good like American General George Washington.
