Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday highly praised the MLAs and Sarpanches of Kendrapada district for their outstanding efforts in containing the Covid-19 pandemic.

Interacting with Sarpanches and MLAs through videoconferencing, Patnaik said Bijubabu would have been extremely pleased for the Sarpanches’ dedication if he would have been alive today.

Stating that he is proud of their performance, the CM advised the Sarpanches to continue efforts till the fear of coronavirus is over.

An official release stated that Kendrapada tops the State’s other districts in recovery rate at 77%. Similarly, the district’s death rate of 0.33% is the lowest in the country. The infection rate in Kendrapada is 2.25%, which is the lowest in the State.

“While 55,000 migrants have returned home in Kendrapada, Covid infection management has made the district as a model one. Sarpanches deserve heartfelt thanks,” said the CM.

Stating that he has always given special attention to Kendrapada, Patnaik said the Government would soon provide an ambulance fitted with ventilator to each block with support of the CMRF fund.

Patnaik directed the Special Relief Commissioner to provide required assistance to the people in view of inundation caused by rains. The SRC apprised the CM that the Brahmani and the Baitarani rivers are not in spate and all efforts have been made to tackle the possible flood-like situations.
