The national Chhau Nata Parab-2016, to be organised by the Aangika, Bhubaneswar in collaboration with the SNA Project Rairangpur would begin at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district from February 26.
The festival to be held for three days is supported by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi. Around 14 cultural troupes from Mayurbhanj, Seraikella, Purulia, Delhi and Bhubaneswar will participate in the Parav. Besides 15 numbers of traditional Chhau performances, the organisers have also decided to infuse some extra flavour by presenting three more vibrant Indian folk dance forms, including Bihu (Assam), Thng-Ta (Manipur) and Sidhi Dhamal (Gujrat).
Notably, the Aangika has been working towards propagating the Mayurbhanj Chhau dance since 1989.
