Charlatans loot on quality coaching plea in K'jhar

RAJENDRA KUMAR SAHU

Frauds are running private tutorials and taking classes without any expertise at the district headquarters town of Keonjhar. There are many private tutorials around the DD College of Keonjhar. One such is Commerce Clinic located near lecturers' Colony where tuition is imparted to students.

PG is the minimum qualification of a lecturer to impart education to a graduate and under graduate students. But there is no such rule so far as the tutorial is concerned where anybody can take classes. Students are attracted to the centre by false propaganda of the agents. One teacher in the tutorial gives confusing statement on his education. Sometimes he says that he is M.Com from the Ravenshaw University and had to decline the post of lectureship in a Government college due his mother's illness, while at some other times, he says that he has done Inter (ICWA) and resigned from a company job. He has also put up large hoardings on the road side of DD College with list of some students claiming to be the product of the tutorial. In order to mislead the students, no photo against the names has been given.

Without knowing the credentials of the tutors, students mainly from Champua, Joda, Rairangpur and other areas take admission in the coaching centre only to end up being cheated. Some days back, guardians of some students of Champua had gone to the tutorial to approach the tutors on the falling standard of their wards. To their surprise they found that the tutors were playing cards surrounded by the students.

When Vice-Principal of DD College Benudhar Patra was contacted, he told that many fraud people are looting the students taking the advantages of their ignorance on the pretext of providing quality coaching. He opined that such cheats should be brought to book.
