A book titled Impact of MGNREGS in India, authored by All-India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary and former MP Dr Rama Chandra Khuntia was presented to President Pranab Mukherjee at a function held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Thursday.
The President accepted a copy of the book from Khuntia. Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and former Supreme Court Judge Dr Arijit Pasayat have written the forwards of the book.
Copies of the book were also handed over to Vice-President Dr Mohammad Hamid Ansari, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, AICC Treasurer Motilal Vora and General Secretary Digvijaya Singh. This is a research book and the sample was collected and Jajpur and Balangir districts in Odisha and from some districts in Telangana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
Incidentally, Khuntia visited all over the country as a member of the MGNREGA Central council and participated in all policy-making decisions of the scheme. His vast experience and exposure in the field encouraged him to pen the unique book.
