On the World TB Day, musician Padmashri Prafulla Kar, sand artist Padmashri Sudarsan Pattnaik and actor Kuna Tripathy were announced as TB Ambassadors for the State and felicitated.
The trio expressed their commitment to improving awareness and public understanding of TB in Odisha.
The event was organized by the State TB Cell and the Government of Odisha, where health officials, civil society organisations, TB survivors and affected communities were present.
“Together with our TB Ambassadors from the State, I am certain that we will control TB by 2020 and eliminate it by 2025. We are very thankful to development partners like REACH, so we can unite to end TB and achieve zero TB deaths,” said Health Services Director Dr Kailash Chandra Dash.
REACH is a non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against TB for almost two decades.
