Chanting of anti-Naveen Patniak Government slogans, songs from a specially-erected stage, beating of drums, blowing of trumpets and waving of BJP flags by saffron cap-wearing supporters, particularly Ollywood actors and actresses all around the Baramunda ground lent a festive atmosphere during the saffron party’s Janjagaran Mahasamavesh here on Friday.
The BJP used the music programme presented by party leader and celebrity artist Pinky Pradhan, Ollywood actor Sritam Dash and also some Sambalpuri singers as a tool to woo public to the venue. The music programme continued till Amit Shah, accompanied by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at the ground at 1.10 pm.
The actors and actresses highlighted failures of the BJD Government through their songs composed in various tunes of popular Odia collections.
“We enjoyed the music. Without being boring, the actors and actresses tried to reflect the development work done by the Narendra Modi Government at the Centre and the hopes of the people and at the same time exposed the failures of the Naveen Patnaik dispensation,” said one Santosh Rout coming from Angul.
Besides, a large number of BJP supporters wearing Modi masks dominated the venue and also the streets around the meeting ground.
People started thronging the venue at around 9 am in a large numbers and were enthralled by the cultural programme till they heard the day’s attraction Amit Shah.
