Bismay Mohapatra, a director of Orison Overseas limited, on Sunday appeared before the CBI for interrogation in connection with the Odisha Premier league (OPl), which, the CBI suspects, was fuelled by money generated by the mega chit fund scam in the State.

Mohapatra, who owned two OPl teams, Puri Emperors and Bhubaneswar Jaguars, was grilled by CBI sleuths for about half an hour in the afternoon. Two other directors of Orison, Dilip Mohanty and Vineet lalani, have already been arrested by the CBI for their alleged role in the mega chit fund scam.

Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) secretary Asirbad Behera and several other OCA officials have already faced several rounds of CBI interrogation on the organisation of the OPl, which had the tainted Aartha Tatwa (AT) Group as its sponsor with payment of Rs 1 crore to the OCA towards sponsorship.
