In a big jolt for Cuttack-Choudwar BJD MlA Pravat Biswal, the Special CBI Judge Court here on Thursday rejected his bail petition in connection with his alleged links in the Seashore chit fund scam.
The court in wake of the CBI’s charge-sheet against Biswal and hearing both the parties rejected the bail petition of Biswal, informed sources.
Biswal had sought bail earlier after the CBI filed its second charge-sheet against five persons, including Biswal and his wife laxmibilasini, in the Seashore chit fund scam.
In its 100 page charge-sheet, the CBI has indicted the MlA of fixing a land deal with Seashore Group CMD Prashant Dash and availing financial benefits to the tune of Rs 25 lakh from Seashore Group for allowing the chit fund company firm to operate in several parts of Choudwar and Jagatpur in Cuttack. Biswal was arrested in September 2017.
