The CBI has filed a charge-sheet in connection with a case of bribery to a medical college involving former Orissa High Court Judge IM Qudussi.
The charge-sheet was filed on Tuesday before Special CBI Judge Anil Sisodia, who would take its cognisance on August 2.
A CBI prosecutor also filed a rectification plea in connection with the matter which would also be heard on the next date. Notably, earlier, Justice Qudussi had, through advocate Vijay Aggarwal, moved the court seeking direction to the CBI to conduct the investigation in the matter in a time-bound manner and without any unnecessary delay.
His plea was that more than a year has passed, but no report has been filed by the Investigating Officer before the court in terms of the provisions of the CrPC.
The CBI has accused Justice Qudussi and some others of conspiring to reverse a Government order which barred a medical college from admitting students because of substandard facilities and non-fulfilment of the requisite criteria.
