Exactly a year after arresting Artha Tatwa (AT) chit fund scam accused Preeti Bhatia, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), probing the chit fund scam in the State, on Saturday arrested her sister Indu Dewan in connection with the multi-crore money laundering case.
Both Indu and Preeti were directors of the Mumbai-based Prismheights Films Entertainment Private limited (PFEPl), where the AT Group was reportedly invested more than Rs 4 crore of its depositors’ money.
Notably, the Odisha High Court had rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Indu last month.
In August, for the first time the Central investigating agency had interrogated Indu and her husband Vikram Dewan for their alleged involvement in the scam.
Notably, PFEPl was set up in January 2010 and AT Group chairman Pradip Sethy was also a director of the firm.
On October 10 last year, the CBI had arrested model-turned-television serial co-producer Bhatia for her alleged links with the ponzi firm.
