With the Puri police investigating the cash to scribes case, the UCO Bank who was the coordinator for the visit of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Urban Development led by Puri BJD MP Pinaki Misra, has apologised journalists and clarified that neither Misra nor Puri MlA Maheswar Mohanty is involved in the entire episode.
“They are innocent and have no role in this,” a Press release issued by the bank said.
Since the Press meet at Puri was organised at a short notice, some mistakes happened at the “local level” since the staff there had no experience in handling such events, General Manager SK Nandi said in the release.
