To mark the International Women’s Day, the Carnival in association with the Seva Prayas Foundation will organise a car rally only for women on March 8.
With the theme on ‘Pledge for Parity’, the rally of around 250 cars would begin from the KIIT campus to the 7th battalion here, said organisers at a Press meet here on Saturday.
Women aged above 18 years can participate in the rally. Maximum four numbers of women can get inside one car as a group. The participants are advised to wear thematic fancy dress to distinguish them from other groups. Interested women can register for the rally through online through www.carrally.in.
Seva Prayas Foundation chief advisor Namrata Chadda said progress towards gender parity has slowed down at many places. The theme Pledge for Parity is a call for everyone to help accelerate gender parity.
Social activist linkan Subudhi said the event would definitely provide the participants a platform to celebrate womanhood. Eminent personalities like Anuradha Biswal, sports icon Valena Valentina and TV anchor Sulagna Routray were present at the Press meet.
