A staffer of the Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar, was arrested in a bribery case on Wednesday.
He was identified as Gyana Ranjan Gauda, Statistical Assistant, of the hospital.
During a trap on the day, Gauda was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 2,000 from complainant Jatadhari Jena of Gobindapur, Erasama, Jagatsinghpur. He was taking the money for issuance of Green Card in favour of the complainant towards educational benefit of the latter's two daughters who were born at the hospital in 2006 and 2009.
Gauda was picked up from his office room at the Capital Hospital.
His residential house at Bhubaneswar was also searched. A case was registered in this connection.
