To create awareness among the public, particularly railway employees and their family members, on the importance of early diagnosis of cancer, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) organised a cancer awareness programme at the ECoR Central Hospital at Mancheswar here on Thursday.
Highlighting the present scenario of cancer disease in the world, Hospital Medical Director Dr JP Panda said a change in the attitude of doctors is much needed. They should realise that teamwork is important during the diagnosis of the disease and after that.
Additional Chief Health Director Dr GC Dash made a presentation on the theme of the World Cancer Day ‘We Can Beat Cancer’.
The guests stressed on infrastructure development which would not only spread awareness but help cancer diagnosis and treatment reach in remote areas.
