The Women and Children Development and Mission Shakti Department on Tuesday launched a State-wide awareness campaign to promote complementary feeding practices for the optimal growth of children between six months and 24 months.
Women and Children Development and Mission Shakti Prafulla Samal initiated the campaign and offered Anna Prasanna to three six-month-old children. On the occasion, Samal also flagged off a IEC van carrying the awareness message.
Notably, recognising the importance of complementary foods and feeding practices for the young children, the department has extended the campaign from 2018 to the end of 2019 in collaboration with the Health and Family Welfare Department and the Unicef across the State.
