At long last, a camp court was opened at Bahanaga tehsil following long years of agitation of the residents demanding a tehsil office in their area.
The camp court would function twice a week on every Tuesday and Thursday. Additional Tehsildar Ratnakar Kandi inaugurated the new tehsil office and the camp court on Tuesday.However, the RI circles under its jurisdiction had not been declared. After five years of agitation by both the residents of Bahanaga and Gopalpur, the Government had opened the tehsil office at Paikasta in Gopalpur, leaving the Bahanaga locals disgruntled.
Protesting it, they, however, continued their agitation. On Saturday last, a group had staged a violent demonstration in front of a meeting venue of Zilla Parishad at Baleswar. Meanwhile, the residents of Gopalpur have embarked on an agitation demanding a block office at Gopalpur.
