The State Commission for Women (SCW) organised a reconciliation camp here on the Tuesday.
SCW Chairperson lopamudra Buxipatra
took up 46 cases and
conducted reconciliation between the concerned parties. She too accepted a number of new cases.
Talking to media persons, Buxipatra said the commission should be empowered with more legal powers to make its work more effective.
“The commission should be empowered to investigate into alleged cases and the decisions taken by it thereafter should be binding on the parties,” she said.
