The State Government on Thursday started bus service to cutoff Swabhiman Anchal of Malkangiri district to facilitate better connectivity for people of the area.
The bus service was inaugurated at Balimela Chhak by Nabarangpur MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi and Chitrakonda MLA Purna Chandra Baka. The bus will ply between Malkangiri town and Panasput in Chitrakonda block.
The development comes 10 days after 5T Secretary VK Pandian’s visit to the region where he assured the people of bus services from the region, once considered a Maoist hotbed.
The 5T secretary had visited Hantalguda in Swabhiman Anchal’s Chitrakonda on March 28 where local residents once again voiced their longstanding demand for connectivity to the region.
